What are Push Alerts?

The Weather Channel will push severe weather alerts directly to your iPhone home screen when an alert is active for your set location. The Weather Channel application does not have to be open to receive alerts. You will be notified three ways:

A small rumble of thunder will sound when an alert is sent

The alert headline notificatizon will pop up

A red badge on The Weather Channel home screen icon will display the number of active alerts


Can I control the types of notifications I receive?

Yes, you can manage (turn on/off) badges, sounds and notifications under iPhone Settings > Notifications > The Weather Channel. You can select one or all of these options.


How do I change my location or cancel alerts once they’ve been set?

You can manage your locations using the Notifications option under Settings, within The Weather Channel application.

Do I Once a location has been set, you can customize the notifications you receive through iPhone Settings > Notifications > The Weather Channel. You can turn on/off badges, sound effects and severe weather notifications (headlines).


Can I set alerts for multiple locations?

Currently The Weather Channel supports push alerts for only one location, selected from your favorites list.
